Shane Black to direct the Predators reboot

He was Hawkins and now he is going to direct the upcoming Predator reboot.  To the fans hate it or love it it seems that a Predator reboot is hunting us either way.The Predator movie franchise has been through its long run of disappointing sequels but now Shane Black is willing to uplift the interesting concept of the Predator once again. With the success of Iron Man 3 movie (Despite comic fanboys concerns) it seems that this movie is gong to be in good hands. Shane Black is well known of handling drama and action which also shown in his work of his critical success of 90s movies such as Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, The Long Kiss Goodnight and Lethal Weapon (screenwriter). Even though he had a small role in the original Predator film he has some familiarity with Predator which makes this movie a perfect fit for him. As of right now all we can do is vision what the new Shane "Blackism" Predator might be until we see some actual development footage or a future trailer.

Why X-Men, Spider-Man and Fantastic Four wouldn't fit in the Marvel Cinematic Universe

I've notice that many Marvel Fans want X-Men, Spider-Man and the Fantastic Four to be in the hands of Marvel Studio and I want explain three reason they shouldn't be involved nowhere in cinematic universe

1. X-Men

x_men_days_of_future_past_banner-wide

Since 2000 X-Men has been the shine franchise for FOX even though many fans have been going through a bumpy road of X-Men: Last Stand, X-Men Origins Wolverine, and having mixed reactions with  the Wolverine (2013). The reason why X-Men couldn't be in the Marvel Universe is because think of it Marvel Superheroes such as Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Hulk and soon Ant-Man & Dr. Strange are beloved but Mutants are bad in are society? It just wouldn't fit the Marvel cinematic universe and also the tone of X-Men would change drastically. X-Men may have comedic elements in movies especially what is shown in X-Men Days of Future Past with scenes in Quicksliver. But X-Men's tone shares everything tragic about humanity and muntantiy such as racism, drama and genocide. Everything opposite that Marvel Universe is, Marvel's tone in past movies have been fun, exciting, patriotic and funny which is everything opposite X-Men is. I just  think that the X-Men of the "now" wouldn't fit in Cinematic Universe and beside X-Men is FOX's Box Office money maker so there is more doubt we would see X-Men fighting against or alongside Avengers.

2. Fantastic Four

Fantastic Four of (2015) will be coming soon and I've notice that many fans hope that this new reboot will fail and the rights will go back to Marvel. I would like the rights to go back to Marvel myself but I think the realism of Fantastic Four shocking normal New Yokers with their powers would lose the awe value premise in the movie. In the Marvel Cinematic Universe normal people seeing superheroes in the real life isn't shocking to most people. Now that the Avengers are assembled people are hoping to have superheroes to help them fight off aliens invaders, Hydra terrorist, supernatural or cosmic super villains. From Stan Lee premise of creating Fantastic Four in the beginning was about a normal group of people turning into superheroes that will become spotlight for news headlines, Talk Shows, and normal individuals like ourselves that aren't use of seeing people with super powers. Now that Avengers and other upcoming superheroes are coming to Marvel Cinematic Universe, Fantastic Four's shocking New York citizens with there superpowers wouldn't be so much of a eye to behold among the many other costume superheroes. Which gives me another reason to dislike FOX's earlier plans for a X-Men and Fantastic Four to have a shared cinematic universe. X-Men is world where people hate and fear mutants but Fantastic Four are either beloved or popular in the media? Also judging how the writers are currently working with  the new Fantastic Four reboot stating "its going to become grounded in reality" I'm having a feeling will probably go back to the earlier comics where Fantastic Four were looked upon as "Gods Among Humankind" setting, which I think will be really interesting.

3. Spider-Man

I know many fans such as myself would dream to have Spider-Man apart of the Marvel Cinematic Universe fighting alongside Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Hulk and among many other super-powered beings arriving to Marvel. And judging from looks of it will become to overcrowded for Spider-Man in the same universe as the others. It will be hard for Marvel to make individual Spider-Man movies without many fans mentioning, "where's Iron Man, Hulk, Captain America" when Spider-Man is in the middle fighting one of his own super villains in the Middle of New York. Also Sony as of now is building off Spider-Man as their own cinematic universe that will try rivals Marvel/Disney. So for a very long time we won't being Spider-Man in Marvel hands anytime soon.

My Last Statement

The last reason I love how Marvel Studios doesn't have every signal Marvel character because of now we can see about 2 or 4 Marvel Super hero movies every year from individual studios. If Marvel had all of their characters will probably see two Marvel movies every once a year. But because FOX and Sony are producing other Marvel characters than we can see X-Men movies when there is a upcoming Marvel/Disney Captain America Movie and a upcoming Spider-Man movie made by Sony Studios.

Ant-Man Comedy: Peyton Reed has confirmed to be the official director

Peyton Reed, Ant-Man

It is official confirmed that Peyton Reed director is own progress to rewrite the script and to direct the upcoming Ant-Man movie. Throughout Peyton's Reed filmography he has directed Yes Ma, The Break-Up, Bring it On, Down with Love and The Love Bug. Now looking back at the pass directors that decided to drop out the Ant-Man project, all of them have directed only comedy films. Edgar Wright and Adam McKay  dropped out the project and now Marvel as reach out another comedy director. So it isn't in shadows that Ant-Man is clearly going to be a comedy. However, the directors behind Captain America: Winter Soldier were comedy directors as well. The Russo Brothers use to be directors over the hit comedy TV Shows Community and Arrested Development and Movies such as You, Me and Dupree and Friggin' Christmas Miracle. Comedy directors can shift to action adventure where movies have a blend of drama, action and comedy. As of right now I believe Marvel is taking a huge risk of turning Ant-Man into a full fledged action comedy same as they are going to route for Guardians of the Galaxy. But with a great script and good direction than almost any movie can become successful. I'm hoping Ant-Man all the best just like I am for any upcoming Marvel movie.

I want to know your thoughts of this decision of Peyton Reed directing Ant-Man? If is a good decision or a bad decision.

Edge of Tomorrow Review

Edge of Tomorrow the Pros and the Cons

THE PROS

1. LIVE DIE REPEAT

First time I saw the trailer I thought Tom Cruise dying and repeating back and forth in the movie would be a horrible way to translate on screen. But after watching the movie, the traveling back and forth concept really was the most entertaining and funny that I have see in a movie. Every time each alien is killed they are able to become smarter and stronger every time they come back from the dead.  The repeat or should I say the "mimic" ability that Tom Cruise's character Cage has inside his blood is used as a clever plot device. When Cage was almost attack by a  Mimic he discovers that he could travel back where he started from every time he dies. Causing him and Emily Blunt's character Rita to know what's going to occur before it happens.

2. Aliens/SPECIAL EFFECTS

The special effects are top notch from the lighting of the battlefield and the beautifully done explosions. Every scene felt like I was actually apart of the war itself. The Aliens themselves look really  menacing and out of the ordinary. The Aliens in this movie are beastly, quick as a speeding bullet and really unexpected as they dig through underground. The special effects makes this movie as a real life videogame adaptation done right.

3. Character Development

William Cage is force to fight in the war against the mimics after trying to blackmail the General so Cage wouldn't have to fight in the war. However, William is arrested and is force to fight in war that he isn't experience fighting in. When Cage discovers that he can repeat his day over again, he is later trained by Emily Blunt's character Rita to become a stronger military soldier. William Cage begins as a inexperience soldier but as the story progresses William Cage develops into  a nonstop killing machine. The development overall felt really natural and fast paced.

THE CONS!

1. The J Squad

Even though the J Squad had there funny moments on screen together, I felt majority of their screen time was unnecessary. Each of them were boring undeveloped characters who were all all nothing more than squad of forgettable good for nothings. Most of their dialogue was cheesy and cringe worthy at best. These characters were nothing more than a group of soldiers to push the story forward and nothing extra for me to care about them. Also the woman on the far right has the most worst fake accent I heard in a movie for a longtime!

2. The Shaky Cam

The movie as whole is really visually impressive but some of the one-on-one fight scenes with the mimics took me out of the movie in some extent. It was bothering as a viewer of trying to see William Cage getting killed or fighting against a mimic up close as the camera kept on shaking away during when close up action were happening place. I felt some of the close up action scenes could have been detailed correctly and more focused. I just hated watching a action scene and  felt that the camera constantly pulling and shifting away. It would also have been more enjoyable to more scenes like in the beginning when a  Mimic's blood was melting William Cage's face off. More gruesome death scenes like that would give killing scenes extra empathizes instead seeing short quick transitions after William or Rita would get killed.

THE VERDICT

Edge of Tomorrow is really a surprising action hit!

Could Edge of Tomorrow be the first successful Manga Adaptation made by a American Film Industry?

  1. Critic Reviews

Surprisingly throughout the week of June before Edge of Tomorrow is even released in theaters on June 6, Edge of Tomorrow has been gravitating positive word of mouth and good buzz from a vast majority of critics. Edge of Tomorrow even though the score can change, Edge of Tomorrow is currently holding a 91% on Rotten Tomatoes, 8.1 on IDMB and 68% on Metacritic. Many reviewers that are able to have free press screenings for the film are even seem excited to speak to the vast majority who haven't seen it yet. However, many average people who have not seen the movie yet are still on diverge of not seeing because many people view the past trailers as mediocre and unimpressive. With this positive surrounded by this movie maybe it will help persuade their directions to go out to see this movie.

2. A Manga Adaption

Edge of Tomorrow is based on the Manga "All You Need is Kill," which many fans of the story prefer title than the renamed Edge of Tomorrow tile. From the good word of mouth, this adaption could be the first successful American Manga Adaptation ever made. Past Manga adaptations such as Dragon Ball has done badly in the American film industry critical and even financially. Edge of Tomorrow could be the right enough movie that can prove any Anime fans that Manga movie adaptations can be done successfully. Now it all depends if those movie will do well during its week in the Box Office. Maleficent and X-Men Days of Future Past will be tough competitors to go up against. But If this movie because a major Box Office success than be ready for many major film studios looking out for many popular Manga properties to be adapted on big screen. Hopefully we begin to see a sign to see many Manga adaptations being treated with care like they are doing with many studios handling with many American comic book based properties.

3. A Sci-Fi Boost to Tom Cruise's Career?

Let's face it majority of the audience who've seen Oblivion were disappointed with it except from me who enjoy it. Tom Cruise has not never acted in a extremely bad movie that can result to ruin his acting career forever. However, even Tom Cruise image is on the front poster on Edge of Tomorrow I've notice many people aren't still excited to see this. When many people experienced the first or second trailer for Edge of Tomorrow many people are having a bad taste of Oblivion Sci-Fi dejavu vibe from it. Which can hurt the movie, hopefully if this movie is a major win for both the average moviegoers and including the All You Need Is Kill Fans than Ton Cruise can still prove to the audience that he can always still outshine in a Sci-Fi role.

These are my three topics of what I think and what's going on with the upcoming Edge of Tomorrow Movie. I would like to know you're thoughts of the upcoming Edge of Tomorrow movie and to know if you excited for it or not.
