Dream Project: James Gunn directing a Transmertropolitan Graphic Novel Adaptation

JAMES GUNN DIRECTING?

Due to the success of James Gunn with Guardians of the Galaxy, a Marvel comic property that was really unknown to the audience radar, is it possible to see James Gunn to share that uniqueness with a Transmetropolitan book adaptation?

Here Three reason James Gunn direction of a Transmetropolitan movie might work.

THE WORLD

James Gunn has proved in Guardians of the Galaxy is that the most interesting to see is the imagination of creating a surreal outer world. Though Transmertropolitan is not in outer space, the futuristic city is so strange, crude and bust with life. Transmertropolitan is world but also view as a outer character with many other strange and surreal characters living inside of it. James Gunn brought us worlds that many Marvel fans dream to explore and wonder, and I think it will be interesting if James Gunn did the same with Transmetropolitan itself.

A Dark Sense of Humor

How James Gunn handled the mature sense of humor in Guardians of the Galaxy with a touch of drama and comedy, I think it would work extremely well within the characters of Transmertropolitan. Spider Jerusalem the protagonist of story who is a charismatic journalist in a city that everyone loves to hate but can't help but move away. Spider Jerusalem is not a Star Lord but he dose have that crazy dark  sense of humor that I think it will do well in a movie. I believe James Gunn creative sense of writing humor can really bring  out the life of Spider Jerusalem and the chemistry with his "Filthy Assistance."

Fun Exciting Story

James Gunn offered a fun exciting story in Guardians of the Galaxy it will be awesome to share that with Transmertropolitan. Spider Jerusalem is hysterical Gonzo journalist who lives in a Cyber Punk America who is also trying to expose three corrupt politicians the Similer, The Beast and Bob Heller running for presidential election. The brief summary might sound simple to many but the layers is so deep and controversial it is begging to be told on the big screen. James Gunn is known making crazy superhero movies such as Super, Silther and Guardians of the Galaxy. I would love a James Gunny darker tone Transmetropolitan story to be shown on the big screen.

So there is my three reason it will be interesting to see James Gunn to direct a Transmertropolitan movie. I would like to know which favorite director you like to be chosen to do such a obscure adaptation.
